MAKE IN THE COMMUNITY

We believe learning and making should be accessible to all.

About

Make in the Community is a year-long collaboration between Google Makerspace Singapore and National Library Board (NLB), and is partnered by Glico. The programme will provide opportunities for Singaporeans of all ages to experience Google’s maker culture and learn the basics of creative and design thinking.

The programme aims to engage the local community in learning through digital making workshops and talks. It also seeks to inspire participants to be creative and not be afraid of making mistakes when prototyping.

Events

Make in the Community will also hold quarterly talks at public libraries, as well as two hackathons at Google Makerspace. At these talks, speakers from different fields will discuss interesting topics, and will share their various experiences and perspectives. The hackathons will allow participants to apply what they have learned in the workshops, stretch their creativity, and encourage them to try something new.
